Portsmouth Harbour kayak trip

Join us for a group paddle and enjoy a combination of adventure, delicious food, and great company. We will meet at Fareham creek on the public slipway next to Trafalgar Wharf and head off East winding around the waterways and into Portsmouth Harbour.

In the harbour you will get to be part of the hive of boating activity and experience great views of Portsmouth’s commercial ships and military vessels. If you are lucky you will get to see the new generation of aircraft carriers and impressive type 45 destroyers. As we approach our destination, the Boathouse bistro in Gosport Premier Marina, you will have uninterrupted views of Gunwharf Quays and the South’s iconic Spinnaker Tower. Following the paddle, we will enjoy dinner at the Boathouse café.

Please note that due to Government restrictions, our events are on hold at the moment. However, contact us to register your interest. We are still operating our beach hire activities.

Your safety is always paramount

As with all our event and hire activities, we take safety very seriously. We run a tight ship and our team are there to support you from the minute you arrive.

We will always give you a safety briefing before you head out on the water and make sure your buoyancy aids are correctly fitted to keep you safe and sound. We are absolutely committed to you having a great time on the water, every time.

Take a look at our FAQs below or feel free to get in touch.
The distance is approximately 5 miles and, paddling with the tide in our favour at a leisurely pace, the paddle takes about 1.5 hours. If you are unsure if you are competent enough, we recommend you build up to it with a few kayak sessions with us at Stokes Bay first.
The event will start at the slipway in Lower Quay, Fareham, PO16 ORA and finish at the Boathouse bistro in Gosport Premier Marina, Gosport PO12 1DP. As the start and finish, locations are different it is advised that you are either dropped off at Lower Quay or you use public transport to get there.
The cost is £45 per person including a set menu and a drink at the Boathouse Bistro.
We provide kayaks, paddles, buoyancy aids, dry bags, and spray tops. All you need to bring is a full change of clothes, a pair of shoes, sun cream and a towel.
Portsmouth Harbour is often alive with a flurry of boating activity and there can be strong tides. With these factors in mind, we run all our events accompanied by a small support boat with a skipper and crew, at least one of whom is first aid trained.
Unfortunately not. Our kayaks are bright yellow touring kayaks and so highly visible making them ideal for this type of adventure. Also, our kayaks are set up to be recovered easily if needed. For these reasons we only permit people to participate with our kayaks. However, if you wish to use your own paddle, you can do so.
No, unfortunately due to strict Portsmouth harbour rules and regulations, this is not permitted.
